Join us for an engaging CE workshop dedicated to Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), featuring two experienced clinicians alongside an advocate, coach, and non-profit leader with lived experience. This comprehensive session will clarify what BFRBs are and are not, helping to dispel common misconceptions. Attendees will explore effective assessment and diagnostic strategies, gaining valuable insights into identifying these behaviors in clients. The workshop will primarily focus on the Comprehensive Behavioral (ComB) model while also incorporating techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Presenters will discuss common roadblocks encountered during treatment and learn practical strategies for overcoming these challenges. This joint perspective will also allow for the sharing of personal experiences, providing unique insights that will enrich the clinical discussions and foster a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in supporting individuals affected by BFRBs. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge in this important area of mental health!

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to: 1. Define Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) and distinguish them from similar conditions, including effective assessment techniques and differential diagnoses;
2. Apply interventions for BFRBs with a focus on the Comprehensive Behavioral Model (ComB), while also integrating strategies from Habit Reversal Training (HRT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). 3. Identify and analyze potential treatment roadblocks that may arise during individual counseling sessions focused on BFRBs. |
