Last month, a group of MPA members and staff attended the annual APA State Leadership Conference (SLC) in Washington, DC. The SLC provides advocacy training for leaders from state psychological associations to promote issues of importance to psychologists and to support professional psychological practice at the state and national levels.

MPA members who attended the SLC also had the opportunity to meet with members of the Massachusetts congressional delegation and their staff to advocate on behalf of MPA members and psychologists statewide, to gain congressional support of proposed legislation that supports psychologists, the practice of psychology, and consumers of mental health service in Massachusetts.
