Dear MPA Members,

Yesterday we announced that Brian Doherty is resigning from the position of MPA Executive Director to pursue a new opportunity.  It is very difficult to see him go.  Brian was instrumental in helping to reshape MPA in so many ways.  However, we are very happy for him as he begins the next journey of his career, and we appreciate his helping us in the transition phase.

I would like to also take this opportunity to update you on the next steps for MPA. The Board of Directors met recently and developed a plan for the interim period, executive search, and transition to a new Executive Director. We plan to retain a professional search consultant as we did during the last executive transition.

We also plan to retain an interim Executive Director to help MPA maintain its operations and to ensure that there is minimal disruption to MPA members as we continue to address the needs of our profession and community.

President-Elect Lanca and I look forward to keeping you updated throughout the transition. MPA will continue to provide its usual services to members, and our intention is to continue working on all on-going projects as we conduct an ED search and facilitate a smooth transition.

Thanks again to Brian Doherty for his hard work and devotion to MPA. And thanks to you for your continued membership, support, and involvement, as we continue to "advance psychology as a science, as a profession, and as a means of promoting human welfare."

Best Regards,

Dawn Cisewski, PsyD
MPA President
