Join us in supporting our long-time friends at the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Massachusetts (NAMI Mass) by participating on MPA's Walk Team for NAMIWalks 2020an annual 5K walk to raise money for NAMI, scheduled on Saturday, May 16th at Artesani Park along the Charles River in Boston!  The walk begins at 11:00 am, with registration starting at 9:00 am.
NAMI Mass is a leading education, support and advocacy grassroots organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people affected by mental health conditions and their families. Consider how NAMI Mass benefits our clients and us:
  • NAMI Mass's website assists individuals and families in securing mental health resources and services; over 160,000 visited the website in 2019;
  • NAMI Mass holds education classes and support groups statewide for those diagnosed with mental health conditions, as well as for family members/caregivers;
  • NAMI Mass's COMPASS helpline provides comprehensive information and resources to help guide peers as well as family members/caregivers to navigate our complex mental health system, such as housing, treatment and employment.  In December, COMPASS celebrated its 10,000th inquiry.
NAMIWalks 2020 deserves our attention and support because the monies raised go towards general operating costs that cover all the programs NAMI Mass offers free of charge to participants.  For an Overview of all NAMI Mass programming CLICK HERE.
MPA will be contributing directly to NAMIWalks and will have an exhibit table at the walk, but we are also inviting our members to come walk with us and/or make an individual donation to our MPA team. Your donation is fully tax deductible to the extent of the law.
