Child And Family Evaluation Service

of William James College

in Boston area

The William James College is pleased to announce three (3) postdoctoral training opportunities in child forensic psychology.  The three (3) Fellowships are full-time and carry a stipend of $42,000.  The one-year Fellowships begin in September of 2018.  The Child and Family Evaluation Service (“CAFES”) is a consultation/evaluation unit within the Center of Excellence for Children, Families, and the Law at William James College.  It provides forensic evaluation and consultation services to courts, attorneys, and public and private agencies on issues in which children and families are involved in the legal system (divorce, custody, abuse, access, etc.).  The Fellowship offers supervised experience, under the direction of Robin Deutsch, Ph.D., ABPP and training in work for the Probate & Family Courts of Massachusetts, including opportunities to testify in court with guidance from an experienced psychologist and a retired judge.  In addition, Fellows participate in various seminars and other learning activities offered by William James College including five Blended Learning courses dedicated to the relevant case law, legal statutes, and professional “best practices” leading to a Certificate in Child and Family Forensic Issues. Fellows will also be involved in the direct provision of services, such as conducting groups for high-conflict parents and other intervention services.

Fellows are required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and will be provided with supervision by experienced, licensed psychologists. By the end of the Fellowship year, fellows will have completed 2,000 training hours.

Applicants must have a PhD/PsyD in psychology with APA-accredited predoctoral internship. Child training is required. Send curriculum vitae, statement of purpose, and three (3) current letters of recommendation to Hon. Christina Harms (ret.), Director of CAFES at the Center of Excellence for Children, Families, and the Law, William James College (first name, underscore, last name). Application Deadline is January 5, 2018.  More information is available at  William James College is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
