Public Education Campaign |
The Public Education Campaign (PEC) is an initiative of the American Psychological Association (APA) with the goal of using psychology to improve the lives of all people. The PEC consists of several social marketing initiatives and targeted public awareness campaigns intended to educate the public about how the science and application of psychology benefits society and improves lives. The PEC network consists of psychologists who volunteer their time to educate the public about the role of psychology in healthcare. These psychologists deliver campaign messages about resilience, stress, lifestyle and behavior, and disease prevention and management among other topics. They give educational talks to community groups, participate in health fairs, and give interviews to the media. |
